No Gold Star family should have to lose the animal that is still holding them together because they cannot afford the care.
For the pets that can get insurance, we help the family find the right coverage. Then the fund will pay the premiums and the deductibles. We want to take as much of the stress off these families as we can so they do not have to figure this out alone. For the ones that cannot get insurance — the older ones, the ones with pre-existing conditions, the ones no company will touch — the fund will cover their care directly. We will not leave those families behind.
We are starting from nothing. This is not a finished program. It is something we will build together, one family at a time, until every Gold Star family in this country can keep the pet that is helping them heal.
They already gave everything. Don’t make them give the last thing they have left.
